Keep Those Business Deposits Tied to Your Bank

Keep Those Business Deposits Tied to Your Bank

Commercial demand deposit accounts are an integral part of a bank’s deposit portfolio. They are less likely to move from bank to bank due to the various ancillary products tied to the accounts. One of the most viable ways to create a more “sticky” deposit relationship is through the offering of a quality merchant services product.

A huge amount of a business’ revenue comes in the form of card payments. Those businesses need a product they can rely on and customer service representatives who respond in a timely manner. Banc Card of America, an IBA Preferred Service Provider, has been serving banks since 1997. They know how to serve customers in a timely and professional manner. If there is a problem with a terminal or software, the customer can contact one of the 10 representatives servicing Indiana banks, and the Banc Card representative will be on site with a replacement in a very timely manner (often within 24 hours).

Banc Card handles their sales efforts with the same personal touch. They will work with your team to help identify potential customers and will then make calls on your behalf, or in conjunction with you, to connect with those clients and discuss their merchant services offerings.

Banc Card only deals with banks and its clients. They have no independent representatives “on the street” competing against you for the business. In fact, when meeting with potential customers, they listen for key comments that might lead to additional business for the bank as a trusted partner, helping gain more business and create more “stickiness” with your customers. This type of service will set your bank apart from the merchant services representatives that roll into town, make a sale, leave a 1-800 number and roll back out, never to be seen again.

Banc Card of America Inc. is based in Nashville, Tennessee, with a local office in Jeffersonville, Indiana. They work with five of the top processors in the industry – Elavon, First Data, TSYS, Clearent and SignaPay – giving merchants, big and small, the latest in card processing technology. In addition, there is no merchant liability, and they provide the lowest interchange rates for “card not present” and “Ecommerce” transactions. These interchange savings are passed along to you, the bank.

By utilizing five processors, Banc Card can offer their bank clients any of the benefits or savings offered by any of those processors. When working with just one processor, a bank is limited to only the benefits of that sole provider. Another benefit of Banc Card is nearly immediate approval upon application, allowing your customer to be up and running, and accepting payment in 24-48 hours.

Often the bank’s merchant services program is an afterthought. However, to your small business customer, it is a crucial service to their survival. Your bank needs quality merchant services available for your customer, with the product and service they have come to expect from being your bank customer.

Most banks will utilize Banc Card’s referral model, which often produces two to five times the volume/output that other merchant services providers are able to yield. If your bank is a size where it makes sense to be an agent bank, Banc Card can also make that happen.

Non-interest income is always a key component to a bank’s revenue stream and merchant services is a great way to generate that non-interest income. Keep those business deposit customers satisfied and stuck to your bank for years to come.
