David L. Hardy was appointed to the boards of Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company, Louisville, and its holding company in October. He is the managing director for the Kentucky operations of CBRE, the global leader in the commercial real estate industry. He has been brokering office properties in the Louisville market since 1988.
Alliance Bank Junior Board Organizes for School Year
The new Junior Board of Directors at Alliance Bank, Francesville, gathered at the First Christian Church of Francesville for its orientation session in August. Each year, juniors and seniors from four area high schools – North White, Twin Lakes, West Central and Winamac – take part in the program to learn about board membership as well as business opportunities and nonprofit service work in their communities.
Bank President Shane Pilarski, COO Tanya Burton and Marketing Director Ashley Bice worked with the students at the orientation meeting. At each monthly meeting moving forward, a senior member will highlight an area nonprofit and a junior member will provide financial literacy tips. The Junior Board also volunteers at local nonprofits throughout the year, each selected by the students. The bank uses its Junior Board as a sounding board for its direction and decisions.
