Bankers on the Move

1st Source Bank / South Bend

Christopher J. Murphy III transitioned from chairman of the bank and CEO of its holding company to executive chairman of both the bank and its holding company, effective Oct. 1. His banking career spans more than 60 years, starting with an internship at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency when he was 17, then three years at Citibank after graduating from the University of Notre Dame, earning an MBA from Harvard and completing law school at the University of Virginia. He then joined his father-in-law and a group of investors to buy what was then The First Bank and Trust Company of South Bend, now 1st Source Bank, serving as a mix of director, president and CEO of the bank and its holding company for the past 52 years. Under his leadership, the bank has grown from $220 million in total assets with nine banking centers to $9 billion with 78 locations. Murphy has served on numerous local, regional and national for-profit and not-for-profit boards, including the Indiana Bankers Association, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. He was named a Sagamore of the Wabash in 2004 and 2024, and was named an IBA Leader in Banking Excellence at this year’s Annual Convention.

Andrea G. Short, who was serving as CEO of the bank and president of its holding company, was promoted to both president and CEO of the holding company effective Oct. 1, maintaining her CEO position with the bank, as part of the institution’s executive succession plan. Short graduated from Alma College with additional training in strategy development at the University of Chicago, marketing at Northwestern University and the advanced management program at Harvard Business School. She also holds the certified public accountant designation.

Kevin C. Murphy has been promoted to president of the bank as part of the institution’s executive succession plan. He started in the bank’s IT department, later moving to Treasury products and services, then serving as president of the bank’s central region; chief information officer; group head of IT, electronic banking, marketing and digital strategy; and, most recently, executive vice president and chief digital officer of both the bank and its holding company since 2022. Murphy earned a bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University, a second bachelor’s from DeVry University and completed Notre Dame’s executive MBA program.

Bank of Wolcott

Robert Pearson has been promoted to information security manager. He has been with the bank for more than 10 years. Pearson earned an associate degree from Ivy Tech Community College.

The Bippus State Bank / Huntington

Holli Morrison joined the bank as controller. She has a wealth of experience and expertise in financial management and operations, including a previous four-year stint with the bank as human resources director and staff accountant. Morrison earned an associate degree from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and a bachelor’s degree from State University of New York–Fredonia.

Brad Van Der Weele has joined the bank as a branch manager with 25 years of experience. He volunteers with Junior Achievement.

Centier Bank / Merrillville

Michelle Maravilla has been promoted to senior vice president, chief human resources officer. She has been with the bank for nearly 20 years, starting in 2006 as a temporary associate to help train new hires. She joined the bank full-time in learning and development before moving to the recruitment team, getting promoted to human resources manager and, most recently, senior vice president-human resources. Maravilla also leads the bank’s diversity advisory council, is a member of SHRM (the Society of Human Resources Management) and numerous other professional organizations. She earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Purdue University-Calumet (now Purdue University Northwest).

Simon Coleman has been promoted to vice president. He joined the bank as a junior financial advisor before being promoted to associate vice president and now vice president. Coleman graduated from Manchester University, is an accredited investment fiduciary (AIF), is a certified retirement counselor (CRC) and is Series 7, Series 66, Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), and life and health insurance certified.

Cathy Graves joined the bank as a branch manager with nearly 20 years of financial leadership experience, most recently serving as senior sales manager at another financial institution. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Suzy Witek has been promoted to branch manager. She has spent her entire 14-year banking career with the bank, joining in 2011 as a client service representative before being promoted to universal banker, assistant branch manager and now branch manager.

Community First Bank of Indiana / Kokomo

Wendy Jarvis has been promoted to vice president, loan documentation supervisor. She most recently served as assistant vice president, loan documentation supervisor.

Brian Mitzelfelt joined the bank as vice president, retail sales administrator, with 17 years of banking experience, including a strong track record in sales and branch leadership. He graduated from Indiana University.

Bonnie Riley has been promoted to vice president, executive banker. She most recently served as assistant vice president, executive banker.

Rana Sayre joined the bank as vice president, director of human resources, with nearly four decades of HR expertise, including talent management, training, benefits and organizational development. She graduated from Indiana University and holds both SHRM and HRCI certifications.

Scott Stars joined the bank as vice president, commercial lender, with 18 years of lending experience. He graduated from the University of Phoenix.

Whitney Steltenkamp joined the bank as vice president, residential mortgage sales manager, with 27 years of experience. She serves as treasurer of the Home Builders Association of Howard County and a commissioner for the Kokomo Housing Authority. Steltenkamp graduated from Indiana University Wesleyan University.

Richard Candelaria has been promoted to assistant vice president, mortgage underwriting manager. He most recently served as bank officer, mortgage junior underwriter.

Allison Hopkins has been promoted to assistant vice president, public relations & communications officer. She most recently served as bank officer, marketing & media production specialist.

Alyssa Horton has been promoted to assistant vice president, electronic services supervisor. She most recently served as bank officer, electronic services supervisor.

Ashley Pettit has been promoted to assistant vice president, head accounting clerk. She most recently served as bank officer, head accounting clerk.

Mikki Richter has been promoted to assistant vice president, Treasury management service specialist. She most recently served as bank officer, Treasury management administrative assistant.

Tyler Smith has been promoted to assistant vice president, commercial lender. He most recently served as bank officer, commercial lender.

Justin Van Zuiden has been promoted to assistant vice president, special assets officer. He most recently served as bank officer, fraud manager.

Joe Baker has been promoted to bank officer, assistant branch manager. He most recently served as lead financial services representative.

Hayden Clark, compliance specialist, has been promoted to be a bank officer.

Kari Disney, assistant branch manager, has been promoted to be a bank officer.

Jason Holmon, senior credit analyst, has been promoted to be a bank officer.

Kaytlin Loges has been promoted to bank officer, branch manager. She most recently served as bank officer, assistant branch manager.

Landry Ozmun has been promoted to bank officer, commercial loan portfolio manager. He most recently served as credit analyst.

Ayriel Williams has been promoted to bank officer, fraud manager. She most recently served as fraud specialist.

Crossroads Bank / Wabash

Nicholas Brewer has joined the bank as branch manager with eight years of banking experience, including personal banking, mortgage loan origination and business analysis. He serves as vice chair of the Whitley County Council and sits on the boards of the Whitley County Chamber of Commerce and Whitley County Junior Achievement. Brewer earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, an MBA from the University of Saint Francis and completed the Whitley County Leadership Program and the Ambassador Institute for Civic Engagement.

The Farmers Bank / Frankfort

Steve Latour has been promoted to the new position of vice president, community & customer experience officer. He joined the bank in October 2023 after three years as CEO of the Westfield Chamber of Commerce. Latour earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University.

First State Bank of Porter

Whitney Torres has been promoted to chief financial officer. She joined the bank two years ago as controller after five years with IBA associate member Forvis Mazars. Torres earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Indiana University and holds the certified public accountant designation.

Fifth Third Bank / Cincinnati, OH

Christian Gonzalez has joined the bank as executive vice president, chief legal officer, and a member of the bank’s enterprise management team, its senior-most governing body. Gonzalez most recently served 15 years at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, an IBA associate member. He has extensive experience across corporate, banking and securities law, as well as mergers & acquisitions, venture capital, capital markets, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. Gonzalez earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University-Newark and a juris doctorate from New York Law School.

First Farmers Bank & Trust Co. / Converse

Yvonne Baird has been promoted to branch manager. She has 35 years of experience in retail banking, lending, trust operations and administration.

Jordan Sharp has been promoted to Community Reinvestment Act officer. He joined the bank in March 2024 as an assistant CRA officer. Sharp has worked in banking for nearly 12 years.

GreenWay Bank / Van Wert, OH

Rob Slusser joined the bank as president and chief executive officer, effective July 14. He has more than 30 years of banking and financial services experience, including strategic growth, market insight and collaborative leadership. Those experiences include leadership roles in retail, commercial banking, private banking and real estate lending. Slusser serves on the boards of Arts United and Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University-Fort Wayne, graduated from the IBA Commercial Lending School and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Horizon Bank / Michigan City

Benjamin Capper has joined the bank as vice president, senior commercial loan officer with 17 years of banking experience, specializing in business banking and commercial lending. He volunteers with Junior Achievement and recently concluded a six-year term as board president for a local nonprofit autism center. Capper graduated from Indiana University.

Mary Land has joined the bank as vice president, senior Treasury manager. She has more than 30 years of banking experience, including Treasury services, commercial card programs, merchant services, investment management and proposal development. Land is a member of the Lakeshore Chamber and Munster Chamber, a former ambassador for the Crossroads Chamber and participates in annual cancer awareness walks. She graduated from Indiana University Northwest.

Austin Schultz has joined the bank as vice president, senior commercial loan officer. He has two decades of banking experience, with a strong focus on commercial lending. Schultz volunteers with the University of Indianapolis Greyhound Club, Neighborhood Health Center of Wayne County, Forest Hills Country Club, Kokomo Country Club and former board member of the Forest Hills Historical Foundation. He graduated from the University of Indianapolis and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Indiana Trust Wealth Management / Mishawaka

Jennifer Sailor joined the trust as chief financial officer and chief operating officer with nearly 25 years of experience in accounting and finance, including 12 years in executive roles. Sailor earned dual degrees in accounting and computer information systems management from Indiana University and obtained her CPA license in 2005.

Karen Nevorski joined the trust as vice president, wealth advisor, with 27 years of experience in the wealth sector. An active member of the Indiana Trust Women’s Advisory Group, Nevorski advocates for women’s evolving financial concerns. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and holds the certified financial planner and certified trust & fiduciary advisory designations.

Bernard Cunningham joined the trust as operations application manager with more than 35 years of experience in developing and executing IT strategies.

Hunter M. Horan joined the trust as an investment associate. He graduated from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Noelle Leszczynski joined the trust as an administrative associate. She graduated from the IU South Bend Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics.

Lake City Bank / Warsaw

Gregory C. Brown has returned to the bank as senior vice president, Commercial Elkhart regional manager, to lead the newly formed Commercial Elkhart Region with a focus on commercial clients in Elkhart and the surrounding communities. Brown has 30 years of financial services experience, including a previous five-year tenure with Lake City. He is a past chair of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elkhart County and treasurer of the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce and Elcona Country Club.

Ron Ellis has joined the bank as vice president, investment representative, with 23 years of experience in financial services. He volunteers with Westfield Youth Sports as a youth soccer and softball coach. Ellis earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico and holds Series 7 and 66 registrations.

Tyler Rondeau has joined the bank as vice president, wealth advisor, with 13 years of financial services experience. He serves as a board member with Iris Family Support Center and volunteers with Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rescue, United Way of Allen County and Fort Wayne Salvation Army.

Casindra N. Shoaf has joined the bank as vice president, project management officer. She has 20 years of experience in financial services. Shoaf earned an associate degree from the International Business College of Fort Wayne, is a certified project management professional (PMP) and agile certified practitioner from the Project Management Institute (PMI-ACP).

Rick Suder has joined the bank as vice president, senior wealth advisor with 38 years of financial services experience. He volunteers with Primetime Youth Basketball as a coach and serves as board president with his church. Suder earned his bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University.

Tosha C. Dickeson has joined the bank as assistant vice president, electronic banking risk & compliance officer. She has 28 years of experience in financial services. Dickeson volunteers with the Boys & Girls Club of Goshen.

Carrie L. Heavner has been promoted to assistant vice president, retail banking officer. She has been with the bank for 24 years. Heavner volunteers with Joy Blooms and Wellfield Botanic Gardens. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.

Lauren Beatty has been promoted to retail banking officer. She has been with the bank for four years. Beatty earned an associate degree from Ivy Tech Community College.

Michele L. Dyck has been promoted to loan systems support officer. She has been with the bank for 14 years. Dyck volunteers with the Habitat for Humanity Kosciusko County ReStore. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis.

Ashley R. McGhan has been promoted to retail banking officer. She has been with the bank for 10 years. McGhan volunteers with Junior Achievement, Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County and teaches money smart classes through the bank.

Lisa M. Metzinger has joined the bank as an enterprise risk management officer. She volunteers with Junior Achievement, Feed My Starving Children and Warsaw Community Church. Metzinger earned a bachelor’s degree from Grace College.

Deanna H. Roe has joined the bank as technology services support officer. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Grace College.

Logansport Savings Bank

Joshua Hopper has been promoted to senior vice president-Treasury management. He has been with the bank since 2008, holding roles in information security/information technology, marketing and, most recently, vice president-project management & business development. Hopper has 20 total years of banking experience. He serves as president of the Kiwanis Club of Logansport and is a past board member of the Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Cass County and Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana. Hopper earned a bachelor’s degree from Trine University.

Sandi Korreckt has been promoted to senior vice president-retail operations. She has been with the bank since 2001, serving as teller, customer service representative, new accounts, deposit operations officer and, most recently, vice president-deposit operations. Korreckt has been in banking for nearly 25 years after experience in retail cash room management and customer service. She serves as president of Logan’s Landing, a Main Street downtown revitalization organization, and has previously served on the boards of the Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana.

Amy Dillman has been promoted to Bank Secrecy Act officer & fraud specialist. She joined the bank last September as a compliance/BSA analyst with 18 years of financial services experience.

Rachel Rogers has been promoted to compliance officer. She first joined the bank in January as a compliance/Bank Secrecy Act assistant. This is her first job in the industry, but she brings administrative experience from a variety of professional roles throughout her career. Rogers earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.

Merchants Bank / Carmel

Ron Brown joined the bank as a mortgage loan originator with nearly three decades of residential mortgage lending experience. He attended Purdue University-Fort Wayne.

Mutual Savings Bank / Franklin

Kyle Raleigh has joined the bank as vice president, commercial loan officer with a background in leadership, business strategy and community engagement. He is a passionate advocate for mental health, founding Madi’s House, a nonprofit supporting young adults facing mental health challenges. Raleigh earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, an MBA from Butler University and an accounting certificate from Harvard Business School.

Rick Brinkman joined the bank as a mortgage lender with a history in residential mortgage lending.

The National Bank of Indianapolis

Matthew Stoops joined the bank as vice president, commercial banking officer. He has 20 years of experience in commercial, industrial and business banking as well as market and branch management, specializing in SBA 504 and 504 construction lending. Stoops is a member of the Indianapolis Scottish Rite. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.

North Salem State Bank

Ashley Ahrens has been promoted to senior vice president, retail operations. She joined the bank as a teller after graduating from Purdue University in 2010, later becoming a teller trainer, branch manager and, most recently, retail operations manager. Ahrens completed the Indiana Bankers Association’s Leadership Development Program in 2024 and is currently working through the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. She is an active member of the Danville Rotary Club and volunteers with numerous community organizations.

Brad Kelley has joined the bank as director of information technology with more than 25 years of IT experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Northwest Bank / Warren, PA

Alec M. Ransbottom has joined the bank as a financial center manager with a strong background in customer service, financial advising and team leadership.

Old National Bank / Evansville

Timothy M. Burke Jr. joined the bank on July 22 as president and chief operating officer. He has worked in the banking industry for nearly 30 years, focusing on serving clients and communities in the Midwest. Burke serves on the board of Akron’s Children’s Hospital, is a founding board member of the Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism, and is a member of the Senior Players Championship Council and the Blue Coats of Summit County, an organization that provides support for first responders and their families. Burke earned a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Matthew T. Keen has been named the bank’s chief information officer. Most recently, he held the same title for Bremer Bank, St. Paul, Minnesota, which completed its merger into the bank in May. Keen has more than 30 years of experience in significant technology leadership roles at national companies, as well as experience with brokerage and banking services, cloud service optimization and platform modernization. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas.

Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company / Jasper

Jordan Briggeman has been promoted to vice president, business banker. He owns and operates a small business in Washington, Indiana; serves on the boards of the Daviess and Pike counties’ economic development corporations, Our Community Foundation and the IBA Future Leadership Division; volunteers with Junior Achievement; and coaches the Barr Reeve High School archery team. Briggeman is on track to complete the Stonier Graduate School of Banking in 2026.

Zach Brown has been promoted to vice president, business banker. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years after graduating high school, serving two tours in Afghanistan. After completing his service, Brown managed the French Lick Airport while earning a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Ashford University. He also has earned a certificate from the Oklahoma University Economic Development Institute. Brown is a member of the Orange County Council and active in his local church.

Melody Ginder has been promoted to assistant vice president, compliance analyst & CRA officer. She has spent her entire 10-year career at the bank, starting in 2015 as a loan processor, then getting promoted to compliance analyst and also being named CRA officer in 2019. Ginder serves as treasurer of the Indy Eleven Soccer Club 2012G team, teaches Junior Achievement at Jasper Elementary School, volunteers regularly at Holy Trinity Catholic School and is a member of the Middles of Debois County, Jasper German Club, Women Empowering Women and her local church. She earned an associate degree from Wabash Valley College and a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company / Louisville, KY

Mike Harris joined the bank as regional manager, wealth management and trust, for the bank’s six-branch Indianapolis market. He has nearly a quarter-century of financial experience at regional and national banks, including leadership and financial advisory roles. Harris serves as president of the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation, a member of the Bank Insurance & Security Association’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and is on the Ball State University College of Business’ finance advisory board. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State, an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and is a certified financial planner, chartered financial consultant and certified divorce financial analyst.

Marti Timm joined the bank as a wealth advisor with 16 years of experience. She volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and Trusted Mentors, and is an active member of the American Bankers Association’s Professional Certification Working Group, where she contributes to the development and review of the CISP (certified IRA services professional) exam. Marti earned the CISP certification through the ABA, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis and an MBA from Columbia International University.

United Fidelity Bank / Evansville

Sherri Padgett has joined the bank as senior vice president, chief accounting officer, with 25 years of experience in the financial industry. She previously served on the board of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, the Indiana Board of Depositories, and was a member of the Independent Community Bankers of America’s Payments and Operations Committee for many years. Padgett earned a bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a licensed certified public accountant in Indiana.

Wesbanco Bank / Wheeling, WV

Richard Laws has joined the bank as senior executive vice president, chief legal counsel. He has more than 25 years of legal experience across private and in-house practice, the last 19 of which were also with financial institutions. Laws earned a bachelor’s degree from Juniata College, a juris doctorate from Widener University and currently serves as an adjunct professor at Penn State Law.
